>> FEB. TEST DRIVE
TDM
Welcome to Majority Rule's first Test Drive! If you did not visit our App This Please, here's the rundown: your character can "arrive" in one of two separate situations on this test drive. While you are welcome to play from both on the TDM if you like you will need to choose one version of initial setup at the point of application and interactions as a member of that crew will be considered game canon. The two "start points" are waking from a sleeping pod on the Yggdrasil on this test drive itself or waking from a cryosleep pod on the Caduceus three months prior. We plan to always offer different starting points and situations on our test drives and in our application rounds in order to keep things interesting.
Specifics about these situations can be found in the prompts below. If you have any questions please feel free to hit up our questions toplevel on this post. You may also report character actions or get investigation/exploration information at the actions & investigations toplevel.
As a note we have also posted a poll test drive post to sort of make it easier to find/vote on things for the purposes of this for anyone who would like to mess around with trying out polls. We're drastically shortening the run length of polls for the purposes of the test drive and will be applying any relevant changes from them every other day or so. This is as much a stress test for our systems as it is for you.
To see what changes have occurred you're going to want to check out the "Ship's Log" section at the tail end of this post. Every event post in Majority Rule will have this section which we will periodically update as any polls or character actions are reported to us that would change anything or that we simply feel everyone else should probably know about.
The jumper bay has a few space suits to each jumper which can alternately be used to traverse areas where life support isn't on or to space-walk. Or to go inside the Keros station where life support isn't really always a thing. These suits will adjust in size and shape to fit any crew member. They have no special capabilities beyond allowing you to breathe and not die in space for a while. The suit charges last roughly 48 hours when fully charged but none of these suits are fully charged. Some are dead and need charging and a few have anywhere from five minutes to three hours of energy. Probably someone should do something about that.
Once characters get into the bay they will be able to acquire cool phaser guns that...aren't charged. Yeah, might want to grab the melee weapons instead until you fix that. Or grab some of the trap mines and trip wires and other such gadgetry. Maybe you can lure some pirates into traps on the Keros station or on board the Lethe. If it's on the Lethe maybe try to mitigate the damage. Or don't.
There's a working transporter on the bridge to the loading bay. It's currently the only working transporter on the ship...and it only works one way. So if you used it, you're going to find yourself all the way down at the bottom-back of the ship instead of the tippy top. Enjoy the hike back!
The loading bay is currently connected to the Keros space station and is the easiest way to access the station. You can use less easy methods if you want, though.
There are, however, animals. Animals without gravity who have freshly escaped from their own cryopods. These animals are livestock such as: two...cows(?), a flock of particularly angry chickens(?), a pair of incredibly displeased cats, and a solitary and very confused dog(?). The horde of animals also happens to include character pets and companions if they, you know, have any of those. Floating around. Freestyle.
All of these animals are distressed for obvious reasons. Rhys will kindly advise against turning on gravity functions for this deck until the livestock is safely secured. Enjoy spacewalking to grab some animals who really don't want to be grabbed. This probably isn't the highest priority issue with pirates around but apparently Rhys felt it was worth noting. And the animals involved would probably feel it was priority one, actually.

You find yourself in a graveyard amongst the stars.
One way or another you have found yourself on or around the derelict and ancient Keros station. How? Well...
Majority Rule Navigator R33500 "Rhys"
1Wake.
You wake slowly from cryogenic sleep inside of a cryosleep pod. While most of these pods are located in cryogenic chambers on the Lethe some may have been set adrift during that long ago battle or passing time. All will be within habitable areas of the Lethe or the Keros station - unless you enjoy danger and drama and have a plan for surviving otherwise.
You remember what you were doing back at home but you can't figure out how you got here. Things feel jumbled. You're in familiar clothing and anything you had on your immediate person is still on you...unless it was somehow gamebreaking in the "dimensional portal back home" or "destroys every game problem with the press of a button" sense. Ask on the questions part if you're unsure.
The glass of the pods is frozen over and difficult to see through and you feel as though you have been plunged into the deepest part of winter. Scrolling across the inside of the glass are almost too fast letters and numbers. You think you've only caught the middle bit or the tail end of it as you start to focus.
Whether you are released or still trapped in your cryosleep pod the network bracelet will chime as a new notification comes in. The username is Sys.Admin; no other character can register this username or any other beginning with "Sys."
What you do next is up to you. Prompts in Majority Rule are just that: prompts. Until vote results come in and are tallied there are no other restrictions on crew operations for the Lethe. As restrictions or courses of action are charted by the Majority Rule protocol Rhys will alert the crew. Action poll results will be strong compulsions the Lethe's crew cannot resist - but they can democratically change anything they dislike, so there's that? Once released from their pods characters may explore the Lethe or proceed out into the Keros station.
The Lethe is currently in the process of booting up. Only the lowest levels of life support are online. Gravity is only turned on in cryogenic chambers, the bridge, and engineering. Everywhere else is currently a free-float area. Oxygen is only being filtered through the areas the crew has accessed. Many areas are closed off currently due to heavy doors locked down beyond which life support hasn't yet initiated. Priority will be given to any areas the crew accesses - it's up to them to prioritize what they're trying to do.

>> Protocol: Majority Rule loading...The final line lingers until you put in an input. Yes or No? You can hit "no" on purpose or on accident. Luckily for you if it was on accident...
>> Loading...
>> Majority Rule locked.
>> Initializing...
>> Sys.Admin poll query release cryosleep locks active voters y/n?
>> Loading results.Active voters? Yes. If you abstained from putting in any input you will find the lock on your pod did not release. You can either get someone else to manually release you or figure it out on your own. Or you can try to convince the Navigator to undo the locks. He might just advise you to run your own vote for release though.
>> Poll query release cryosleep locks: majority y minority n.
>> Locks releasing from active voters.
Whether you are released or still trapped in your cryosleep pod the network bracelet will chime as a new notification comes in. The username is Sys.Admin; no other character can register this username or any other beginning with "Sys."
>> Attention all crew. Unidentified Yggdrasil-class hospital ship has entered this quadrant.Occasionally Rhys will make advisory statements. Characters and players do not have to listen to them - they are the Navigator's advice but the choice of how to proceed is up to them. They can listen, do the opposite, or do something else entirely. There are no current restrictions on the actions of the Lethe crew. The only time Rhys will actively impede characters is if blackmail or violence is used to force votes in any direction. Rhys will consider attempts to murder other crewmembers as violence impeding votes.
>> Please be advised scans indicate the ship is damaged with several lifeforms on board.
>> Some escape pods have been detected. Recording trajectory...recorded.
>> Unidentified hostiles are in pursuit of the hospital ship. Sys.Admin advisory incoming.
>> Loaded. Sys.Admin advisory: rescue operations are suggested. Fleet Protocol prohibits combat engagement from medical crews.
>> Sys.Admin advisory: engage hostiles at will.
What you do next is up to you. Prompts in Majority Rule are just that: prompts. Until vote results come in and are tallied there are no other restrictions on crew operations for the Lethe. 2Jumper bay.
>> Please be advised the Lethe is not combat ready. The jumper bay is located mid-deck. There are 20 short-distance craft currently in vaious states of fueling. Each craft can fit up to four people and are suitable for making small trips to and from planets or other nearby areas. They have minor combat capabilities and are mostly meant for recon and short-distance travel. They can be used either to rescue Caduceus crew members or to engage the enemy combatants. Or to fuck off and do something else? Currently all ships are locked down. To take them out characters will have to work together to get things operational.
>> Sys.Admin advisory: restore power to non-essential areas.
>> Suggesting jumper bay priority.
The jumper bay has a few space suits to each jumper which can alternately be used to traverse areas where life support isn't on or to space-walk. Or to go inside the Keros station where life support isn't really always a thing. These suits will adjust in size and shape to fit any crew member. Some are dead and need charging and a few have anywhere from five minutes to three hours of energy. Probably someone should do something about that.
3Weapons bay.
>> Please be advised weapons are currently inoperable. The weapons bay is located near the top of the ship, close to the bridge but currently blocked off by a hell of a lot of fallen debris and one gaping open wound to the stars. They can...maybe fix that? Ignore it? Up to you. The weapons bay contains the armory as well as various defense systems. There is currently no power or life support to the weapons bay.
>> Scans from weapons bay...inconclusive.
>> Sys.Admin advisory: send teams to examine situation.
Or don't.
4Bridge & loading bay.
>> Most ship transporters offline. The Lethe bridge is currently mostly operational. There's life support and gravity - what more could you want? At the center of the Bridge is a holographic display that currently is showing the current spread of where the Lethe, the Caduceus, the Keros station, and enemy ships are in relation to one another. The viewport also gives a pretty decent view of...a lot of dead ships. Eventually it will also give a semi-decent view of some of the action.
>> Active transporters...one.
>> Sys. Admin advisory: fix transporters?
There's a working transporter on the bridge to the loading bay. It's currently the only working transporter on the ship...and it only works one way. So if you used it, you're going to find yourself all the way down at the bottom-back of the ship instead of the tippy top. Enjoy the hike back!
The loading bay is currently connected to the Keros space station and is the easiest way to access the station. You can use less easy methods if you want, though.
5Botany & Agriculture deck.
>> Critical alert: gravity offline in Agriculture.Yeah, so. The Agriculture deck takes up an entire deck of the ship and is currently overgrown with some dead plants and a lot just wildly tangled. Lights are flickering on and off. There's oxygen, but there's no gravity.
>> All livestock unsecured.
>> Sys.Admin advisory: send teams to secure livestock.
>> Sys.Admin advisory: restore gravity functions.
There are, however, animals. Animals without gravity who have freshly escaped from their own cryopods. These animals are livestock such as: two...cows(?), a flock of particularly angry chickens(?), a pair of incredibly displeased cats, and a solitary and very confused dog(?). Hippocratic Protocol Navigator A71355 "Alyce"
1Wake...a few months ago.
You wake slowly from cryogenic sleep inside of a cryosleep pod...three months ago. As per the ATP, some characters found themselves waking from sleep aboard the Yggdrasil-class Hospital Ship Caduceus three months before the start of the TDM. Similarly to those on the Lethe, characters would wake slowly from cryosleep. They were in familiar clothing and similar to the Lethe crew anything they had on their immediate person was still on them...unless it was somehow gamebreaking in the "dimensional portal back home" or "destroys every game problem with the press of a button" sense. Ask on the questions part if you're unsure.
Unlike on the Lethe Caduceus crew did not have to submit a poll for freedom. Instead they were greeted with a very different methodology.
A71355 was unable to give the crew much information about how they found themselves on the Caduceus and no other lifeforms aside from the characters who woke there were anywhere to be found. The AI was initially shy and uncertain but was openly willing to answer any questions asked to the best of her abilities. Her memory was found to have been significantly damaged by a long hibernation and all the prior crew logs were deleted. The only information remaining were many medical logs, details on her Protocol, and the crew manifest. The manifest held the names of every character who awoke on the Caduceus along with some others.

>> Protocol: Hippocratic Oath loading...The crew of the Caduceus was able to get their ship fully operational while working together and learned from the Navigator, Alyce, that the Hippocratic Protocol had two main rules. First, do no harm. Second, treat harm where you find it. This Protocol prevents the crew of the Caduceus from attacking or injuring other people - if they try to do so they instead pass out. It also requires them to render aid if it is in their ability to do so, manifesting as an intense desire they can't shake. All crew of the Caduceus is bound by the Hippocratic Protocol and will be unable to break either of these laws until they become crew of the Lethe by the end of the TDM.

>> Please report to the Medical Bay for recommended health examinations.

2Travel.
The Caduceus has been traveling ever since. After some time on the journey A71355 requested that the crew refer to her as "Alyce". Obviously a lot more than this happened in those three months. Characters visited two different worlds together and likely fell into learning how to work with one another and got to know Alyce as they sought answers together. Create as many noodle incidents as you'd like - this is just a basic outline to work with about what they'd have experienced and what they might have done. The two worlds that characters visited, in order and briefly, are:
Baatera, a large planet with two moons that is mostly comprised of huge tropical rainforests. The planet is near enough to the sun to be hotter than most are used to but not so hot that it can't be endured. Of the many species on Baatera there are two the characters would have had notable experiences with based on their landing site. The first are the Sashute, a small catlike folk known for being friendly and hospitable to strangers who live in elaborate treehouse villages. The second are the Vecialae, a large reptilian species known for their warmongering tendencies who live in underground caverns and tunnels they dig out. The Vecialae frequently attack the Sashute and anyone else who happens to exist in their vicinity.
Teclite, a smallish sized ice planet with no moons at the far edge of the star system Baatera is part of. Teclite is home only to the Tecra, a mammalian species with two legs and four arms who grow venomous spines over their body. Their "religion" is cybernetics and even their young children are made over into cyborgs. They are wary of anyone who doesn't have some form of cybernetic enhancement but allow certain visitors. They permitted the Caduceus to land after the hospital ship responded to a distress signal sent out by the Tecra due to an outbreak of illness in one of their smaller colonies.
3Attack.
In the present day your crew was traveling to a new world after leaving Teclite. Well-stocked and somewhat familiar with how everyone worked together the mood was likely high right up until the attack came while in transit. While the crew experienced some friction on Baatera from the Vecialae the Sashute were well practiced at evading and repelling those attacks and the danger was "acceptable" in that no one died in the expedition or was grievously injured beyond healing. This moment right before the TDM started? That's when their luck ran out.
The familiar chime that comes before Alyce communicates sounds more harsh and frantic. A soft klaxon alarm as the Caduceus shakes with a series of small hits. The ship swerves as Alyce attempts to initiate an evasive pattern and they fall out of hyperspace.
Unfortunately, some of the hits are heavy. Alyce does manage to steer them into the starship graveyard around Keros but the ship is floating dead by the time it comes into view. Characters may be injured from the attack or trapped in certain parts of the ship flying free. Characters who fell back to the bridge will hit the Keros station dock with the remnants of the Caduceus as pirates prepare to board.

>> Warning! Damage detected on the hull of the ship.Unfortunately The Caduceus has no offensive capabilities and under the Hippocratic Protocol characters are unable to cause harm or fight back. You hear Alyce's repeated warnings to retreat to safer areas as she shuts down life support and power to every other location once the crew is clear, diverting as much power as possible into defenses.
>> Hostile craft are in pursuit...
>> Please immediately fall back to bridge and escape pods.
>> I need to divert all available resources to shields.

Her usually clear and helpful responses are mostly garbled and consist of frantic entreaties to stay safe. With the ship dying and gutted Alyce's functions are limited and she is "dying" in every sense of the word that matters but true to her programming her first and only concern is her crew.
4Boarding.
As the crew scrambles to evacuate or chooses to stay put after the crash they will find the assorted Reaper spacecraft closing in are preparing to board the Caduceus. Alyce continues to urge the crew to leave but cannot force them to do so. If they choose to stay, or to try to figure out what the Reapers want...it seems they're pirates and scavengers both. And Yggdrasil-class ships are apparently very rare. One of the goals of the reapers is to take Alyce's core located in the depths of the ship below the bridge. If they are able to retrieve that they will next attempt to take Rhys's core, or will retreat with whatever they can grab.
The reapers are mainly this species but some other types of aliens can be found as well. No humans seem to be among their number. Actually, you haven't seen humans on any other planet so far...the reapers are armed with an eclectic variety of tech-y guns and less technical melee weapons. They will try to capture alive some of the crew but only seem to want a few captives. They're actively trying to take out anyone else.

5Escape.
While some escape pods managed to make it to a nearby planet (these characters do not exist for this TDM but will be appable next round), many of the escape pods were lodged on Keros or are floating in space. One unlucky(?) pod managed to hit the weapons bay of the Lethe. The crashed Caduceus is lodged on the Keros station and characters who were trapped on the trip can get off as long as they've managed to put on one of the ship's space suits. The Caduceus's suits are white in color and each comes with medical kits and capabilities. Health scans, basic operational tools, that sort of thing.
Starship Graveyard
The Keros space station is a huge ringed structure with docking for several dozen large craft and hundreds of smaller craft...or it was. Abandoned so long ago that few remember the place exists the station is now in intense disrepair with many huge scars of damage open to space. While there are several ships still docked many are entirely nonfunctional or barely functioning. There is notable damage from a long past battle to the station and many of the ships and wreckage drifts around the station in a huge minefield. Some of the combatant ships from that long ago battle are part of the drifting wreckage. Since what does function includes ancient mines and some functioning weapons locked into defense mode few dare to go anywhere near Keros these days.
The Lethe has been sleeping at Keros for a long, long time. And now it has woken up as the Caduceus came flying through the debris to crash into the station, the Reapers hot on its tail.
The Lethe has been sleeping at Keros for a long, long time. And now it has woken up as the Caduceus came flying through the debris to crash into the station, the Reapers hot on its tail.
1Ancient defenses.
Currently some of Keros station's defenses are still active. Unfortunately for everyone these defenses are active against everyone, pirate and crew member alike. These include: laser turrets attacking incoming ships and escape pods; detonation mines within the station itself; chambers that quickly fill with paralyzing gas and so on. You can make up your own sci-fi traps within the station as you choose. It's a dangerous place that clearly thought it was going to be attacked or boarded. And it was obviously correct about that. Getting through the defenses and taking over the station would be hugely helpful in repelling the attack if you feel like doing that.
Currently the station is home to no lifeforms other than those that just woke or entered: the Lethe crew, the Caduceus crew, and the Reapers. The reapers are mainly this species but some other types of aliens can be found as well. No humans seem to be among their number.
Oh, and there's the monster in the station trash compacter area. But as much as that wants to kill you it wants to kill you just a little bit less than the pirates. Maybe.

2...Trash compacter monster?
Much like the scene in the original Star Wars trilogy there is a huge room full of various space trash (ancient space trash even) on the Keros station that also houses a large...thing. Under the water and trash. You probably are best off if you never get a good look at it as it will try to drag you under and eat you if you're close enough. It can be scared off if you do real damage to it though.
The room WAS inactive, but guess what? It's one of the traps you can fall into. Ancient garbage and moldy gross water and suddenly you can hear a grinding sound and walls start to close in on you. So, like, have fun with that?

3Crew swap?
Upon contact with any Lethe crew member Caduceus crew members will be offered the chance to officially join the Lethe crew once things are quiet enough that Rhys can voice the offer. Generally after any rescues are preformed. To accept Caduceus crew members must link their network bracelets to that of the Lethe crew member's for an uninterrupted minute.
>> Alert: I cannot contact the Hippocratic Navigator. This will free them from the Hippocratic Protocol so they can fight but immediately put them under the Majority Rule Protocol. They will also no longer be able to contact Alyce on their devices until and unless something is done about Alyce's current situation and status.
>> Sys.Admin advisory: suggest bringing crew under the Majority Rule protocol.
4Downtime & resupply.
Eventually the Reapers will either be defeated and scared off or will head out with their spoils in victory - that's up in the air dependent on player actions. Either way one thing is certain: characters will eventually be able to regroup and attempt to resupply the Lethe, preform repairs, and explore Keros and the ships docked there. Characters can kind of choose their own adventure for what they'd do next at this point.
The TDM will be flowing into our first in-game event in March, which will consist of landing (or crashing, or something else) on our first planet. The first planet is pre-determined in order for us to have the first event and TDM written well in advance but every planet after game open will be decided by vote as per our FAQ.

Wildcards welcome.
We aim to let players take creative lead for themselves when possible. Don't feel constrained by the above prompts. They're guidelines to help you get a feel for things - we're cool with people making shit up as long as it isn't making up an interdimensional portal home or something like that. Use common sense and "yes, and" away. We encourage use of our investigations and questions and will be trying to get to things in a timely manner. Most of our responses will come in the evenings.
Ship's Log.
This section of the event will be updated regularly with a brief outline of what's going on that everyone should know about. Just check it every so often if you want to be up to date!
Pursued by Reapers the Caduceus fled to the starship graveyard that was home to Keros station and the sleeping Lethe. As soon as the Caduceus was within sensor range the Lethe and some of its crew awoke. Some short time after the Caduceus crashed into the station after jettisoning several escape pods.
Alyce's core and several servers were removed from the Caduceus by Izuku. The remaining servers were removed by Alhaitham.

Specifically, would it be possible to damage something inside of the ship and rest assured that Alyce would be okay as long as her core and code are intact?

1. This probably would have been better to ask on the FAQ, but I wasn't sure if you were accepting questions there due to the wording both on that page and this one, so -
How does language work in this game? I assume there aren't language barriers, are things automatically translated?
Can we still do character quirks like using honorifics or other languages' words mixed in with the one they're using?
2. More to the point of the TDM, how fixable would Alyce's core be? Obviously if that's gonna take forever due to story and plot that's understandable, but if there are any more minor repairs that can be done in the meantime, I'd be interested to know!

R33500 // "Rhys"
You do not have to intend to choose Rhys as an initial navigator to tag him for a thread. All threads with Rhys may be considered game canon regardless of crew but please note if you'd like him to consider your character as a Lethe crew member or a Caduceus crew member as it may slightly alter his responses.
We will try to get to everyone in a timely manner but keep in mind all of the moderators work and our responses will mostly happen in the evenings!
A71355 // "ALYCE"
You do not have to intend to choose Alyce to tag her for a thread currently, but only threads with applicants who join her crew will be considered game canon - if the players in question wish to keep them.
As stated in the above prompts Alyce begins the TDM rather heavily damaged so her responses may not be useful or coherent. If you would like to interact with Alyce as she was during the original three month trip please go back in time to our ATP.

roxy lalonde // homestuck // ota (repping aly crew btw)
one // oh nooooooo
[roxy was enjoying her interdimensional space travel vacation honestly. like, okay, sure she missed her friends! but she grew up as the only human being in a nearly planet wide radius since there was only this one other dude, so it isn't like she isn't used to being apart from her pals. she can still function. and waking up in a cryo tube on a spaceship is actually pretty far down on her weirdometer, all things considered. it has nothing on that candy bender she and her friends all went on that she likes to pretend isn't a thing because lord! was that embarrassing. luckily no one here knows anything about her so roxy can pretend anything she likes.
she uses this superpower of no one knowing her personally to just not talk about all the awkward embarrassing sad stuff and to instead talk up her super cool interests of wizards and cats. and wizards. and also cats. and SCIENCE. and cloning. and not alcohol. you know, super cool interests for a super cool girl. being told she can't fight is like...thank you? she's here for it? like she can throw a punch and use a rifle and some other types of weaponry because when you live past the waterpocalypse you just learn to survive and thrive but that doesn't mean roxy really likes fighting or goes looking for it.
her favorite thing is making friends and getting along with friends and having tea parties and just...chilling. she can do without the battles. so she gets this huge feeling of oh noooooo followed by of fuckin course when that alarm starts off and the ship shakes and she careens into someone else because haha what is footing when your super cool spaceship is being attacked?]
Escape pods?? Wait wait wait escape pods to, like, where? Shit, is Aly gonna be ok? [roxy grips the arm of the person she knocked into as she's straightening up. she's just touching for comfort. the novelty of touching other human beings is still kind of a thing even after her stint being around the other four and then later her momdaughter and ectoson and yadda yadda homestuck.]
two // evacuee bomb
["One unlucky(?) pod managed to hit the weapons bay of the Lethe" roxy is one of the losers on that pod now. of course she is this is exactly the way her life likes to go!! although she doesn't seem to mind exactly? like yeah crashing in an escape pod isn't exactly her idea of a good time but whatever she can roll with the punches. she floats over near to the window of the pod and peers outside. she can't see shit with all the smoke going on so she tries squinting. it fails to work.]
Ok...ok. So those of us who cannot breathe in space should probs make sure our face plates are locked and loaded before we leave the vehicular vehicle. On account of living being a positive thing to aspire to and dying being lame and not fun at alllll. [also if you're a lethe person feel free to investigate the escape pod that crashed into your ship lol whoops?? she wasn't driving she swears.]
three // stealthy traps of STEALTHINESS
[man if she could punch a pirate she WOULD punch a pirate. sadly roxy is banned from pirate punching pursuits. is this how jane felt whenever she'd get grounded to her room? probably not. jane's dad was an awesome dude and would definitely let jane punch a pirate if that pirate wanted to punch her first. roxy also can't cause harm to pirates. but annoyance? annoyance isn't against the rules, right? so once she has evacuated unwillingly and gotten out of that mess she's setting up some elaborate blockades throughout the station. out of what, you ask?
perfectly generic objects. to translate the homestuck lingo: a perfect green cube. she can POOF them into existence and is using them to build elaborate fort blocks and random maze detours. it's tough to say if roxy is actively trying to be an asset or if she has gotten half distracted and is just goofing around. the way she cheerfully peers out of her fort at anyone who doesn't seem to be an angry space alien puts a tick in favor of the goofing around column though.]
Hey hey heyyyyy. Do you wanna join Fort Rolal? The rules are you must like cats. Or wizards. I will take either option. If you don't...banned. Banned for life. [roxy holds her hands apart like she's about to clap them, then pulls them further apart. another generic green cube pops into being. how many does she plan to make? who knows. if someone wants her to stay on task she may need just a little bit of help with that.]
four // after all the nonsenses have nonsensed
[okay but this is like the same prompt above. except now she is building forts in the lethe. for fun and absolutely no profit because no one is paying her to build elaborate generic block forts that are sort of starting to block some of the passageways. all her hard work for absolutely no payoff at all. sue her she finds building these things kind of soothing okay!! if you want to scold you can or if you want the above invite into the fort with the rules of cats and wizards being cool insert that here yo and roxy will wink wonk at you and conscript you into her super cool fort that clearly everyone wants to get in because who doesn't like a fort. losers, that's who.]
five // just aly ship things
[since there's three months of past cr bullshit to make up if you wanna thread something from in that timeframe here is a prompt where we can do that!! roxy was pink pep from the start and LOVED the sashute. like so much. an illegal stupid amount. cute cat people she is THERE...and then she thought the tecra on teclite were also pretty rad because who doesn't like cyborgs? she kind of feels like dirk would get more out of it than her but she was all around a pleasant ball of sunshine in both places. i can make up random noodle incidents for us if you hit me and ask me to randomize something or! just hit me up assuming roxy came over to bother and bug someone happily. also she spent a ton of time in the med lab poking around because that shit is cool and she loves mad medical science. the ectobiologies as it were.]
six // idk just hit me
[i will take surprise tags with random happenings any day of the week. bonus points if you somehow involve cats for roxy.]
one
More or less.
Until shit goes wrong, inevitably.
When the ship careens into something else, Kokichi is barely on his feet again before he feels a touch to his arm.]

Erichthonios | Final Fantasy XIV | Alyce
[Erichthonios wasn't a traveler, nor an explorer. He spent most of his life in the same facility he was born into, only occasionally leaving for study trips to a nearby facility, still he was trying to adapt to what, by his people's standards, was the life of a Wanderer. That, of course, translated in abandoning the safety of the ship and traveling outside it to meet the locals of the planet they were visiting.
The man adjusted his satchel, letting out a small sigh, and started to walk toward the Sashute village with a notebook in hand.]
Since we're basically compulsive healers and we don't know what kind of creatures we may encounter during ur travels, it may not be a bad idea to find medical plants and, conditions allowing it, growing them... right?
[He wasn't planning to stay there for long anyway.]
2] Under attack
[Even if Erichthonios was allowed to fight, his entire experience on the field was using aetherial chains to hold enemies in position and trap them. One at the time. There was little he could do against an enemy fleet... especially considering that by the standards of his people, he had always been incredibly weak. He dropped the book he was reading, getting up and grabbing the little satchel where he stored the food for the day and a couple of interesting seeds and plants he obtained on Bateera.
When he left his room, Erich had only that and the clothes he was wearing. Now... the bridge, right? He was going to stay on the ship as long as possible, hopefully everyone was going to make it to the pods.]
Does anyone need help? [He finally asked, yelling at the top of his lungs. Erich didn't leave his coworkers in the Pandaemonium behind and he wasn't going to leave the other members of the crew fall to the enemy if he could avoid that.]
3] Boarding
[He was a one trick monoceros, but he knew said trick very well. With his very limited powers, Erichthonios could at least conjure aether chains to slow down the enemy's advance and allow his crewmates to escape. And if the enemies were after Aly's core... well, he had no idea on where to find it, nor the time to worry about that while using all his energy to create small barricade after small barricade.
After a while of that stupid game, with fingers shaking and sweat covering his skin, he finally tried to get the attention of one of the other crewmembers]
Hey, do you know how many people still have to take the pods?
4] Ancient defenses
[His luck, after leaving on one of the pods, lasted only so long: one of the turrets on Keros turned in the direction of Erichthonios's pod and shot it down as it was landing. Him and the other passengers were tossed around inside the small vehicle as it impacted against the space station's surface, leaving a trail of debrifs and flames behind, and they found themselves upside down when it finally impacted against the wall.]
By the creation... [It took him a good moment to regain control of himself and process what just happened. Okay, everyone seemed alive, that was good... hopefully the suits they were wearing were going to keep them safe.] Is everyone- Oof.
[In his attempt to free himself from the security belts, Erich only managed to fall down on the ceiling of the pod. At least it had been a very short fall.] Okay... first thing, don't do what I just did. Second thing.. I don't know, the ground feels solid?
5] Crew Swap
Fantastic... now I can fight.
[The man almost glared at his own bracelet, still trying to recover from the earlier events. At least he had a valid excuse not to raise his hands before, but now...]
Remember when I said the only thing I could do was creating chains out of nowhere to slow the enemies? Well, that still applies.
[He wasn't a fighter and the only time he fully transformed he was under the literal influence of a greater force that may or may have not provided him the energy to transform in the first place.]
I'm... sorry? At least I can buy you guys time?
6] Wild Card
[ooc: Hit me with anything? Despite his canon of origin, Erich isn't a fighter/is considered in canon one of the weakest between his people and can more easily be found doing maintenance or tending to animals/plants since he comes from the Pandaemonium in his universe, a research facility that doubles as a very dangerous zoo for creatures that aren't allowed to roam around unchecked. He's friendly, just a bit awkward! Feel free to poke him.]
1
You read my mind.
[ A large portion (if not all) of his research with the Followers was based on using the local flora to synthesize new medicines - this is kind of his area of expertise. And even if he's not at all familiar with whatever alien plant life they're likely to find, here, he's not completely demoralized by the daunting task of starting over entirely from scratch. ]
I have to imagine we'll be spoiled for choice, here. [ The thick jungle housing the nearby village (and covering just about everything else in sight, barring the small clearing where their shuttle managed to land) is a riot of potential biodiversity, and no doubt some of it will have beneficial properties. ] But maybe we should ask the locals where to start?

he's not crying about what's happened, and he hopes he doesn't get as bad as she is. due to her emotional state, he decides not to say anything at all as he doesn't want to prompt anything dangerous like... feelings. perhaps she needs some time to adjust, and if she feels the need to speak she will.

Kokichi Oma | Danganronpa V3 | Alyce/Cad
[Kokichi's felt that his stay on the Cadeuceus has been...a more stable stay than his last environment, that's for certain. Which is odd, considering this is the middle of space and he's pretty unused to that. Kaito would be having a blast right now. He tries not to think on that too hard. Best to not carry regrets with him. He's met plenty of people by now - his fellow Cad crew, and Alyce. He likes Alyce. More or less, she seems to be someone who helped save his life. So he owes her, in a way.
Not that he's sure he deserved it.
When the ship begins going to hell, however, he's clenching his teeth. He has to help where he can, he supposes. He owes them that much.
He's just not sure what he can do, so he freezes. Great.]
II
[By the time Kokichi boards the other ship, he's injured. His shoulder is cut open, bleeding pink blood, and he's definitely stumbling a bit. His head is swimming a bit, too, but he manages to get near someone, and offer them a lopsided smile.]
Hey. How's it goin'--
[And then he almost passes out. Almost. He's teetering on the brink here. Either you're part of the Lethe crew and this is a stranger, or you're another Cad and your crewmate is almost passing out on you. Help?]
III
[The option to transfer crews is offered to him. Kokichi stares at the alert, and then his expression hardens a bit. He crosses his arms.]
Yeaaaaaaah....not likely. I have kind of a loyalty program going. I'm not just going to transfer to someone else's crew so easily when we don't know who you are. We can't trust you.
[It may take some convincing...]
IV
[If you want to do a wildcard or a pre-attack mission, I'm game! Just hit me with whatever and we'll see how it goes!]
iii
There's a pause as he waits for somebody else to refute him, but seconds stretch out and there's only the tension that hangs in the air, and he wonders what to do... He doesn't like to interfere in the business of others, as that too is left to those with stronger personalities than his own, but maybe it'd be bad if he just leaves him? His doctor had encouraged him to talk to others, but she's not here to tell him what to do now.
Emil coughs to cover up the silence, or maybe that's just because his throat is suddenly dry. ]
You want to stay here? You won't be able to fight then.

After they've essentially lost Alyce and the ship, she's been hoping to find something in the junkyard for anything that could help them out. The mood with the crew has certainly been depressing, to say the least, and for good reason. [ the protocol that alhaitham's under orders him to not do harm, and if there is aid he can give to the nearest person, then he'll have to do so— be it pirate or another crew member. a quick cursory glance over the other, and he can say the only problem the other seems to have is shot nerves, and aside from that he seems fine. as for the room that they're in, it's filled with debris up to his hips: water, metal, and among other stuff as the smell is severely the worst part of this room along with the sound of something ominous swimming in the depths on the far side of the room.
alhaitham takes a step forward, his attempt to pull himself up and out of the liquid that stains his clothing. he appears unharmed, and there's no weapon visible on his person from what it looks like. it seems peter has more of an impact than alhaitham does. ]

Wake!
Crazy. It was crazy to think how non-violent he used to be. Reminiscing had to end quickly though because there was a face that came into view and all of Isaac's alarm bells went on at exactly the same time. Cranked up to fucking eleven. He could almost hear it. Visibly winced when Poe stopped by his pod. Isaac wasn't stuck. Not in the 'shit there's something physically preventing me from getting out' sort of way. No, he was just hallucinating and having a minor panic attack. Which, well it could be considered stuck. He could almost see one of those things come up behind the guy and here he'd be, again, on another ship, or station, or whatever it was.
But it didn't happen, and he might have looked for a moment like a bit of a lunatic over nothing. Although Isaac was really good at hiding his emotions (spectacular at it), a sharp person would be able to see the fleeting terror in the smallest of signs before it was determined that Poe was probably human and probably fine. For now, there was no threat. So finally, he took the offered help. ] Hey, yeah. Yeah, just. [ His voice sounded a little rough and fingers twitched as his temple like he was going through a rolodex of thoughts once he finally got up to his feet before finally relaxing. ] Just a little disoriented. Thanks.

Doctor Who | The Doctor (2nd) = Caduceus/Alyce
The cryopod hissed as the seal snapped open and allowed the very rumpled looking man to escape from the deep freeze. His legs swung free and he dropped, a bit shakily, to the metal floorboards.
"Oh... my head... I feel giddy."
He clasped his hands over his face, feeling the contours of his cheeks and nose while trying to will the dizziness to fade. After a few moments it had.
"Mmm, this isn't Earth. Mirror, mirror... I need a mirror."
The shiny surface of one of the interfaces would suffice. He leaned over the console admiring his face in the red reflection of the dials, the right side, the left, he pulled a few funny faces, before he burst out laughing like a maniac at the unseen others he now addressed.
"HAHA! It didn't work did it! I'm still me! You've failed!"
2 - Travel - Baatera
The treehouse was under siege. The friendly Sashute did what they always did in these situations, they pulled up the ladders, removed the bridges, and did their best to fortify themselves in the safest and most secure area of the tree house village complex. The Vecialae were large and not well suited to free climbing so this was in large part a very effective means of keeping the lizard warriors out.
Even more effective was a huge fruit dropped from above which one of the more industrious Sashute decided to employ. This fruit caught one of the Vecialae in the head and knocked him out cold.
"Oo! We'll have to see to him once this is over. That's quite a nasty bump on the head." For the moment there was no safe way to get down to the injured soldier so all the visiting Doctor could do was wince, "Why are they attacking? Has anyone managed to discover that?"
3 - Travel - Teclite
The illness that raged through the colony was unlike any he had seen before. It seemed to hit the children the hardest perhaps because they were so young or because they had fewer cybernetic augmentations... He couldn't say yet and had only these things as theories as he worked with a blood sample on a slide.
"Careful with those samples," He spoke to whomever was working with him in the medical bay, "The last thing we need is this illness infecting the rest of the ship."
4 - Attack - Escape Pods
"Hurry! This way!"
The Doctor held up the emergency exit door for far longer than it should have been allowed but it was the only way to make certain those in the hall beyond had a chance to make it to the pods. He would have held it open longer if the ship hadn't shuddered violently to the right tossing everyone, including the Doctor to the deck. He landed hard, hard enough in fact to knock himself clean out. He might need some help getting into one of those escape pods himself.

cryogenic chambers, lethe.
( talk about rude awakenings.
it goes a little like this: a sharp intake of breath, an immediate choice to be made, a dizzying amount of revelations - something about a hospital? being unable to fight back? it sounds like trouble, and lots of it. the chime of notifications after another on a bracelet she finds herself with advises, but not implores, that they help.
after a moment to catch her breath and gather her bearings, the sound of fists on glass muffled from within catches her attention. she doesn't think twice before reaching for the small of her back to tap at one of the mechanisms situated there to release a lizard-like behemoth.
before long, its claws are able to find purchase on the cover and rip it out of the hinges. by its side, the brunette waves, smiling sweetly as if they weren't just informed of pirate attacks and a whole fleet of defenseless passengers weren't out there fending for themselves. )

while the suits are charging, she can likely be seen fussing with a computer and trying to make heads or tails of it, mumbling to herself. sometimes, you might even spot her glaring at the ships as if that'll do any good in unlocking them through sheer annoyance. maybe help her before she takes another one of her little guys out to do some 'manual dislodging'... )

give her a sign you're there! or perhaps, come help her search for people or anything useful! if you find yourself on keros, she'll likely turn to help reclaim the space station as well! )
-- 004. RESCUE.
also on keros or caduceus.
( from her awakening, this has been her goal. the moment she heard from rhys that there is a protocol out there that rendered people on the other ship unable to even defend themselves, she knew exactly where she needed to be. it might've taken some time, considering how much trouble she had to go through in powering up various sectors of her own ship to get here, but the important part is that she's here finally!
maybe not much assurance in knowing that the one coming to the rescue is a girl with no brawn or weapon to speak of, but that's life. )
You must be real proud of yourselves going after the ones that can't bite back. ( pirate, scavenger, whatever. she sticks her tongue out. ) How about you play with me instead?
( and to the rescued: a wink. )

Wake (Navigator R33500 "Rhys" ~ Crew: Lethe)
💥 ➊ [Frozen. That's exactly how he feels. Everything's heavy and numb, as if he came to after falling through an iced-over pond. At least it's getting warmer? "Ice" melting and nerves starting to pick up. Images rush through his mind, a sudden flash of memories of where he'd been last, and Bakugou's eyes snap open with a jolt. First thing he sees is scrolling lights, until his pupils shrink and focus on what turns out to be data flowing past his face. A pod? Capsule? Shit- The fuck's going on?! As his body comes back to waking and warmth, he's left twitching a fingertip, then a finger, then his hand curling, etc.
Gives him time to read the data rushing past his face. Majority Rule... Locked... Cryosleep locks?
FUCK YES!! Smashing the "yes" with his thumb. Let him out!
Wait- Did it say "majority y minority n"? There are other people here? The moment the pod door uncouples with a hiss, Bakugou rams his metal kneepad into it, knocking the panel upward and screeching the hinge. Loud enough to wake anyone around him or at least alert them. Blood pumps though his veins hotter again and he grasps the edge of the pod, muscles hardening as he pulls himself up from the frosty bed amidst tendrils of chilly vapor. Rise from the ice coffin, huh.
This shitty bracelet's making noise again. Glaring at it, he reaches down with one arm and massages at his legs while reading through the information. A username? Hmph. Easy enough... But that comes later, when he's not being briefed of a ship arrival. Immediately this is clicking in his head like some kind of science-fiction movie. People transported in cryosleep and an issues arises necessitating waking some or all of the populace. Doesn't explain why he's here and not back home, but...
Bakugou narrows in on the "hostiles" part. Rescue mission. Medical crew prohibited from combat engagement. Fucking stupid rules, but if that's what he has to work with. Engage hostiles at will.]
This shit now. Fuck.
[Slamming one fist into his palm, Bakugou steps forward and leaves his pod behind. Out of that thing. He can start to question things in a few, once he gathers his bearings. Red eyes glance around from within the black shielding of his mask, noticing the other pods around. Some of them are opening, some of them remain frosted, some are already open with other people getting out of them. Looks like he's not the only one here.]
Hey! [Barking at another woken sleeper.] Stop fucking dawdling! Make yourself useful and wake the others, get 'em outta their pods, or find a map of this place! I'm gonna open the doors.
Jumper (Navigator R33500 "Rhys" ~ Crew: Lethe)
Weapons (Navigator R33500 "Rhys" ~ Crew: Lethe)
Rico Dredd | Judge Dredd | Lethe crew
[Arrival - Lethe]
[Disoriented when he'd woken up, Rico had immediately slammed his hands against the glass screen of the pod, accidentally locking himself in. Alright, not the finest moment from Mega-City One's best. But you had to give him a little credit here - one minute you're having a little downtime before your next shift in half an hour, the next minute you're locked in what feels like a freezer. When you come to your senses like that, that's nothing but bad news. Couldn't fault him for giving himself a little pat-down to make sure his squeeze of the week hadn't been working for organ-leggers and stolen his kidneys or something.
That's fine. Rico reads the flickering words, takes a deep breath, and smiles. Isn't this his lucky break?
Time waits for no man. He rips off a strip from the bottom of his shirt - hanging off his shoulders and missing more than a few buttons. To the potential interest of anyone who had been sensibly released from their pod and investigating the area, there's a sound coming from inside one of the pods. The faint shadow of someone moving inside, underneath the semi-opaque frost. A thump of an impact against the glass, hard enough to rattle the frame. And again. And then-
-a fist expertly wrapped in a strip of Hawaiian print fabric smashes right through the glass from the inside.]
[Bridge - Lethe]
[Rico's watching the holographic display intently, eyes flicking between the positions of the ships. It's a chaotic mess to make sense of, but he's up for the job.
Whether he's wearing a garish unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt ripped at the bottom, oversized sunglasses tucked away in a pocket, jorts and a single flip-flop -- or the much more dignified armored space suit from the jumper bay depends entirely on timing. Maybe you're one of the (personally or not) rescued crew members from Alyce resting up. Or someone he's met up with on the way. Either way, whatever he's wearing, Rico carries himself with perfect confidence.]
Majority rule. Democracy in action.
[Rico sounds thoughtful, his voice a deep rumble in his chest. A little distant, maybe - he's got more than a few trains of thought running at the same time. He takes a split second to look away from the display at the other person, a faint smile on the edge of his words.]
What do you think about it?
Rescues - Keros
[Eventually, Rico does what he does best. He isn't an engineer, or a Tek-Judge - there's only so much he can do with support systems or getting spacecraft operational. But with any kind of weapon in his hands? A young man with quick reflexes and a lifetime of practice might dabble in some applied violence. For the greater good, of course. And of a camaraderie with his fellow humanity.
Aha. No. He's looking to get his hands on some answers. And clothes. And weapons. But the selection he'd picked out from the armory wasn't a bad start at all. And he makes for a great bodyguard. Never in a safer pair of hands when you're with Rico Dredd.]
Weird looking guys, huh? [he says, toeing over the body of one of the aliens whose face he'd smashed in. Brutally, but efficiently. He kneels down at its side, frisking it for things he could use - the gun's an obvious choice. There’s a faint quirk playing at the corner of his mouth, like he’s amused at some private joke.] Can't say he looks much prettier now.
[Wildcard!]
[OOC: Rico will be all over the place. Investigating, arming up, changing clothes, dragging people out of traps, etc. Feel free to hit me with something that isn't explicitly laid out here!]
bridge
that's why he's distracted poking at displays, so it takes him a few seconds to realise anyone's even speaking to him directly. people don't really do that, so it's rather quaint. ]
What?
[ briefly confusion and then amusement registers in his strange black eyes, but part of that might be rico's ability to exude confidence despite his ridiculous outfit. it's not to his personal taste, but john can respect it. ]
What do I think about democracy? [ he chuckles. ] I think we might be screwed if there comes a time when somebody needs to start making hard decisions.

Rescue Rangers
Cassian Andor | Star Wars
[ Cassian doesn't move at first. He takes in as much as he can just by moving his eyes. This isn't the cell he fell asleep in. By instinct, his hands go behind his head. On Program. He is complying.
He can't tell how long he remains like that, unmoving, barely breathing, frozen with something between caution and terror. He expects to hear one of two things: either the screams of the other men as they're fried, or shouts of guards ordering him to do... whatever it is he's supposed to do in here. He's so focused on listening he almost misses the message.
Of course he votes yes. When someone asks you if you want out of a cell, you say YES. When the door opens, he drops out immediately, shivering a little. He's still barefoot, still in his white and orange prison jumpsuit. He focuses on the bracelet, trying to tug it off and otherwise examining it. That is, until he hears somebody ]
1.a [ Somebody approaches him. He looks up and then scrambles to his feet. ]
Hey. I just got here, but I think it was some kind of mistake.
1.b. [ He hears a sound from one of the other pods and darts over. ]
Hang on, I'll get you out.
2. Jumper Bay, Lethe
[ Cassian had originally tries to go to the weapons bay, but is stopped by the impassable gap. So he doubles back to the jumper bay. He's not a fan of going out in a suit. Only Mandalorians are stupid enough to do it. But if it's his only option, he'll put on a suit.
But not a suit with only a fraction of a charge. He turns to the other person trying to find one that works and points to the power gauge. ]
This is supposed to be full, right? This couldn't mean anything else?
3. Weapons Bay, Lethe
[ Cassian isn't sure what's going on with this hospital ship, but there's some kind of skirmish going on and he wants to be armed. If the weapons aren't working as intended, he is pretty sure he can either fix them or get them to do something else. Bombs and guns and even blasters aren't all that complicated once you get down to it. Just a series of controlled explosions.
It takes some effort but he gets there eventually. First things first: inventory. Whoever is there he hands them a box. ]
Go through this. We need to figure out what options we have. Quickly.
4. Wildcard!

Hmm... [ One look at the contents within once he's set the box down and fumbled it open has him speaking up immediately with, ] If you could describe what I should be looking for as I do that, I would greatly appreciate it.
[ He tells Cassian that in a gruff Scottish accent but the sheer lack of knowledge won't stop him from going through it. He can sort similar items even if he doesn't know exactly what they are. ]
